Kaiela Arts work drives important outcomes for local Aboriginal artists and strengthens out community by sharing culture, learning from our past and empowering future generations.
Located on the ground floor of the Shepparton Art Museum, their storytelling and culture are embedded throughout the SAM building with brass and granite inlays in the floor and screen printed soft furnishing fabrics that feature designs by Kaiela Arts artists.
The studio space is used by artists to explore traditional and contemporary techniques, putting different ideas together with lessons from land and nature to create high quality artwork and increase the visibility of contemporary Aboriginal culture in Victoria.
Regular exhibitions and events are held throughout the year.
