Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) has one of Australia's most important collections of historical and contemporary ceramics, along with significant holdings of Australian art in all media.

SAM has 4 major exhibition spaces, including a dedicated Children's Gallery, and showcases over 18 exhibitions annually. The museum highlights national and international artists, along with items from its ever-growing collection that spans more than 4,000 artworks. 

During your visit, stop by the SAM Shop to discover the hand-picked selection of artist-designed wares and take something special home with you. 

With amazing views, enriching exhibitions and programs, SAM is an experience not to be missed when exploring Shepparton & Goulburn Valley. 

SAM focuses on collecting Australian art in all media (including ceramics), with a focus on contemporary and Indigenous Australian art. Recent acquisition highlights include work by Vernon Ah Kee, Patricia Piccinini, David Noonan, Tracey Moffatt, Dale Frank and Fiona Foley.

Opening Hours

SAM is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm.
Closed on Tuesdays.
(Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day, open 1pm to 4pm ANZAC Day).
