The Shepparton Art Museum is pleased to present a new series of talks and conversation, SAM Deep Dives with the University of Melbourne in September and October 2023. Focusing on the themes and ideas explored in SAM’s collection show, SAM Deep Dives invites guests to take a second look as they are guided through unique conversation by academics and researchers from University of Melbourne. Over a two-part series, SAM Deep Dive 2023, will investigate death, technology and the art of poetry to reveal a little more from the exhibition, Dance Me to the End of Love: Journeys from birth to death in the SAM Collection.
The Dance Between Art and Science Speakers: Michael Arnold and Tamarah Kohn Michael and Tammy will provide a commentary on Dance Me to the End of Love by discussing the relationship between art and science. We will try to contextualize the exhibition by describing our own academic research and its inclusion of art, by accounting in more general terms for the relationship between art and research, and in doing so, making some observations about the relationship between art and reality.
This is a dual delivery event. You are welcome to tune in either in person at Shepparton Art Museum or online, via live streaming.
