Shepparton Heritage Centre presents the Light Horse Exhibition. Running for 3 months, this exhibition highlights the timeline of the Australian Light Horse.
In the First World War (WW1) the Light Horse Regiments were skilled mounted infantry in the Australian Imperial Airforce (AIF). The 20th Light Horse Regiment, Victorian Mounted Rifles, served locally from 1920-1940. In 1938, five troopers from this Regiment participated in a Pack Horse mail relay between Shepparton and Melbourne, delivering special addressed envelopes as part of Shepparton's 100-year Centenary called "Blossom Town".
Shepparton Heritage Centre is open Tuesday to Sunday 10:30am - 4:00pm
