Family (from Latin: familia) is a group related either by consanguinity (by recognized birth) or affinity (by marriage or other relationship). It forms the basis for social order. The purpose of the family is to maintain the well-being of its members and of society.
Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra’s Annual Concert 2024 will highlight the instrumental sections, or families, of the orchestra. It will feature works that showcase the instrumental families of the orchestra, both individually, and collectively. The makeup of the instrumental families and the interplay between them will be explored.
In addition, the orchestra will continue the collaboration which brings new works from local composers and arrangers and, as always, it will present some familiar favourites and cover a wide range of musical styles. The annual concert will be presented as an immersive multimedia experience suitable for all ages.
