Northern Victoria's only Backyard Ultra race will be held for the second time in Shepparton at the iconic Victoria Park Lake.
Time: Race start 12pm
Run a marathon in the past and wondered how far you actually could have gone? The Backyard Ultra is a unique running format whereby runners all start a 6.72km loop every hour on the hour.
Sounds easy? Sure, how many times can you back up and start again?
Runners return to the start line =1st with everyone else each hour until they personally can't go any further, then they quit. It's not about how long it goes; it's about finding your own limit.
In 2022, the event ran for 31 hours. Meaning that the winner ran for a total of 206km. In 2023, it is likely we will go significantly longer than that with some of Victoria's best backyard ultra runners already registered.
Don't be put off by that though, come and do what you can. Train hard, and push yourself to the very edge of your limits, you'll be suprised how far you can go.
