This free information session is for HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, COMMUNITY SERVICE WORKERS, AND BUSINESS OWNERS/MANAGERS.
For all other community members wishing to learn about this subject, please attend the free Coercive Control - Community session which can be found at:

Coercive control is a form of abuse. As a health worker, support worker, or business leader, having an understanding of coercive control and being able to identify it will enable you to offer greater support for your clients and employees.
In this session we will provide participants with answers to the following questions:
- What is coercive control?
- What does it look like in relationships?
- What are the dangers of coercive control?
- Why do women find it hard to leave these situations?
There will also be a focus on technology-facilitated abuse including how to to assist clients and employers to respond to it and safeguard against it.
This information session will be co-presented by representatives from Relationships Australia Victoria and Greater Shepparton City Council, and is being provided as part of the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence events offered by Greater Shepparton City Council and Goulburn Integrated Family Violence Services Executive.
It can be offered free to the community thanks to funding received by Greater Shepparton City Council for the Free from Violence Local Government Program (Victorian State Government), and Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism grassroots initiative.
Limited spots available.
