CFA District 22 Championship Committee will be holding the CFA District 22 Championship, at Mooroopna Recreational Reserve on Sunday 20th March 2022.
CFA Brigades in NE Victoria from Strathmerton to Wodonga shall compete on the day in 6 events, each re-enacting common truck/hose field operations.
This is the 50th year that this event has been held. It is a great opportunity for CFA Brigades to compete against each other and to exchange time saving firefighting techniques.
Junior Urban State championships will be held that same weekend on both Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, with Urban CFA teams from all over Victoria competing.
The following weekend, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, CFA State Rural and Urban Championships will be held at the same location. Junior Rural teams will compete on Saturday and Senior teams on Sunday.
Both Rural and Urban fire Brigades from all over Victoria will compete in a number of events, each re-enacting common truck/hose field operations. A number of CFA static displays will also be held.
A CFA uniformed Torchight Parade shall be held beginning at 8.30pm on Saturday March 26th at Sobraon St, proceeding down Wyndham St to the Shepparton Arts Museum. The Chief Officer, VFBV President and a colour party lead off and are followed by Brigades with a CFA tanker in front of each uniformed group. The torches themselves are metal on a 60cm pole carried by brigade members on their hips at a 45 degree angle. Very spectacular.
