Careful Cobber Cars on display at Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre

Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre will display pieces of local history during the Summer School holidays: Careful Cobber Cars on loan from the Museum of Vehicle Evolution.

Drop in to the Visitor Centre, located on the ground floor of the SAM building beside Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton, from Monday 23 December 2024 to Friday 31 January 2025;  take photos with the emblematic little "Cobber" cars, and learn about the Careful Cobber road safety program that was a part of many of the region's residents education In years gone by.   See the very car driven by King Charles (then Prince Charles) during his visit to Shepparton in 1985!

Other road-safety themed activities for children will be on offer, including colouring, play cars and a mock driving ground complete with road signs!  Information about the history of the Careful Cobbers will also be on display.

The Visitor Centre's display also highlights safe driving messages, including the Transport Accident Commission's Pause Stop Program,  which aims to reduce driver fatigue on long journeys by encouraging road users to plan ahead, pull over, and recharge, particularly focusing on Visitor Centres as an ideal place to rest and break the journey as well as plan breaks as part of onward travel journeys.

The Visitor Centre is open every day 9.00am to 5.00pm, except Christmas Day.
