Craig’s latest book introduces Annie Shearer and her best friend, an adopted stray dog called Runt.

About the book

Annie Shearer is a solitary girl with a compulsion for fixing things. Runt, on account of his years eluding capture on the streets, is capable of remarkable speed and acrobatics.

When Annie overhears an anxious conversation between her parents about the loan on their farm, she decides to enter Runt in the Agility Course Competition at the local fair, which boasts a winner’s purse of $500.

It's here that she learns of a much, much bigger prize on offer at the prestigious Krumpets Dog Show in London.

Runt is a chapter-book written for children but adults will thoroughly enjoy it too.

About the author

Craig is a multi award winning author. His previous book Honeybee was a bestseller and one of his earlier books, Jasper Jones, has been adapted for film and stage.

Runt has already been announced winner of the Best Children's Book, Indie Book Awards, 2023, and has been shortlisted in the Younger Reader, Book of the Year Category in the 2023 CBCA Awards.
