The Australian National Piano Award opens with its solo recitals. An exhilarating world-class fest of piano music showcasing Australia’s brilliant young classical pianists.
Performances every day at 1.00pm and 7.30pm.
Across the Award week, each finalist will present two 45-minute solo recitals, showcasing a diverse and demanding repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works.
Over four days, these performances allow audiences to engage with each pianist’s individual artistry and follow their journey throughout the competition.
Featuring works by composers such as Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Messiaen, Vine, and more, the solo recitals form the foundation of this prestigious Award.
With over $75,000 in prize money, international adjudicators and audience votes determine The People’s Choice Prize.
In the lead up to the grand final, three adjudicators will listen intently and appraise every performance, while audiences can vote for their favourite pianist in the Lorna Speechley Memorial Prize for the People’s Choice.
5–8 October 2026 — Solo recitals
