Shhh… Can you hear the birds? Can you see them? Or can you smell them?! What do they feel like?
In our Accessible Mindful Birding workshop, we’re going to explore the world of noticing birds just for the sheer joy of it, using whichever senses work for each of us. Move about as much or as little as you wish, use your eyes, your ears, your nose, or your skin! It’s a fun way to connect with nature and notice some amazing birds without having to travel too far, by foot or by wheel.
Mindful birding helps us to slow down, to calm the mind, notice more and appreciate the beauty of nature. Bring all of your senses, and let’s go mindful birding!
This activity will involve some walking and some sitting, but you can decide how much of each that you do. It will be helpful if you bring along a folding/camp chair that you can sit on when you need a rest, but we'll have a couple on hand for those who don't have one. Also bring some binoculars if you have some, but we also have some beginners sets that you can borrow.
If you're unsure whether your accessibility needs will be met, please call Al from Find Your Feathers on 0409 404 258 and we can have a chat about how to make things work for you.
This event is proudly brought to you by Find Your Feathers and RiverConnect to celebrate International Day of People with Disability.
