The aims of the International Scarf Exchange are to preserve the skills of spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet and felting, to expand the wool craft network, and to challenge each crafter to produce their best original work.

Participation in the scarf exchange involves a person selecting 150 grams of washed and prepared fresh natural fibre.  This will be crafted into a scarf, shawl, bag or hat, gloves/mittens or socks, by another participant in the exchange.  In return, participants are required to craft an item using fibre sent to them.

This is a national and international exchange, with items being crafted across Australia, Canada, USA and UK.

The 2023 International Scarf Exchange will be coordinated by Spinners and Weavers Guild of Western Australia.  A Guild from each Australian State takes a turn.

The International Scarf Exchange 2022 at Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre will feature exhibition items for display and viewing (items not for sale).

Exhibition open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm, Each weekend 10am to 2pm until 25 August.
